Peter Oakley made his YouTube debut back in August 2006 with Telling it all, a series of five- to ten-minute autobiographical videos, Oakley gained immediate popularity with a wide section of the YouTube community that responded to the natural charm Peter exhibited and his unique story of an octogenarian willing to use the new YouTube platform to reach out to an unknown audience that might want to listen to the story of his many interesting experiences. As a result, he connected and has built a strong relationship with the “YouTubers,” as he is known to call his audience.
