Make and Receive Calls in Gmail

Starting last month on August 25th you can use Gmail to receive or place Google Voice calls, and as of August 26th everyone in the U.S. If you don’t see the feature yet, try logging out of Gmail and signing back in.
If you are unfamiliar with it, Google Voice allows you the ability to manage all your phone communications and more importantly, seamlessly make and receive calls on any of your existing phones. But if you don’t have your phone with you or if you’re in a place with poor cell phone reception, or you’re travelling internationally and don’t want to incur expensive roaming charges, wouldn’t it be awesome if you could use your computer to make or receive calls?

Video! Google vs. Facebook Battling over Location!

Google vs. Facebook on Location is heating up between Google and Facebook over their ‘Places’ location services, aimed at luring local business advertising dollars to their respective services, as the race begins to really heat up over the local advertising dollars from businesses that want to get the most return for their marketing budgets. The real battle will be waged and escalate over the real-time mobile advertising market as more and more people turn to smart phones that apps can be written to specifically target niche markets within the mobile community which continues to grow exponentially, and of course the ultimately winner in the competition will be the consumer market. Remember, competition is GOOD!
