Microsoft to Sell Razorfish to Publicis for over $500 Million

In a deal that has probably been in the works for several weeks Microsoft Corp. has agreed to sell Razorfish to French advertising firm Publicis Groupe SA, for approximately $530 Million in stock ($232.6 Million) and cash ($297.4 Million), that’s part of a long-term arrangement 9Publicis_Groupegiving Microsoft a small position (3%) in Publicis and Microsoft will continue to use Razorfish as its preferred provider as part of the agreement. This will increase Publicis revenue from the digital market to 25% of its annual total, an important direction with the projected continued strong growth of the global Internet markets.

razorfishDeal makes a lot of good sense for Microsoft with Bing now online, and the recent agreement with Yahoo.
