Like most people, we are fascinated by the ins and outs and workings of time lapse videos. We truly appreciate the time and focus it takes to film and edit such a video, and feel like the effort required to produce such video gems is well worth it, at least from the viewer’s point of few. And to everyone that does it, keep up the awesome work! Check it out and see if you know the places traveled to in this 12,225 mile cross country odyssey that took at lot longer than 5 minutes to travel.

Avatar is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people. This is James Cameron’s Avatar Featurette showcasing the human technology used by the mining colony on Pandora, and with more than 10 years in the making. From the cryogenic drawers that the humans are put in during transport to Pandora, to the oxygen masks that must be used while in the planet’s atmosphere, to the weaponry the humans must use to defend themselves against the creatures on the planet. It’s interesting to hear about the real logistical and scientific decisions behind the types of aircraft used on Pandora. And yes, they do talk about the big robotic mech AMP suits.
Avatar marks Cameron’s return to feature directing since helming 1997s Epic Movie Titanic!
