Google takes on Microsoft Windows with Chrome OS
Team Altman Interesting News:
Google’s message to Microsoft with its incursion into Windows territory with its own version of a computer operating system that might change the operations of personal computers is “It’s on!”
The company announced the forthcoming Google Chrome OS will revolutionize how computers operate by putting more emphasis on Web functionality that will make computers faster, and open them up to helpful tinkering by outside program developers.
We have no doubt that Chrome OS will be a huge success, especially if it ends up as fast and as simple as Google is promising, and we should definitely not underestimate the potential of Windows 7 as the best thing to come out of Microsoft in a long, long time.
Apple doesn’t seem to be worried since that’s what Google is taking aim at, with the intention of slowly eating into Microsoft’s market share, and to get Chrome OS installed on netbooks first, then notebooks and desktops later. Yet Apple, even with eight per cent or whatever it claims nowadays doesn’t seem to be in its sights.
